Camping Water Filters


In today’s world – there is no reason why you can’t have a camping water filter.  Don’t assume the water that you are drinking is safe!  You must bring a water filter with you when you camping.  It doesn’t matter if you are staying at a campground or in a tent.  Having the proper camping water filter can save your trip and maybe even your life.  Anyone who has been in a camping emergency now knows to always bring a water filter with them.  Remember water is heavy.  It isn’t possible to bring all of the drinking water that you need for your trip.

There is plenty of camping equipment that you should carry with you when you go outdoors. One of the must haves and essential camping equipment would be the water filter. This ensures that you’ll have a potable water when you camp in remote areas where there is no supply of safe drinking water. Visit your local camping supply store to see all of the different models available.  Some may even let you try them out before you make your final purchase.  There are also many great resources on the internet to research and find the best camping water filter for your needs.  Most filters can be purchased for under $50.  Of course some sell up to $250 depending on the features that you desire.  Some of the more expensive model filters can be scrubbed and reused many times.  One more tip – consider the flow rate of your filter.  You want to make sure that it is at least a liter per minute.

If you decided to visit a third world country – you must remember to bring your water filter.  You may find water that is contaminated by virus, sewage and other harmful materials.  Please be prepared when traveling overseas.  You can never be too safe!

You do have the option of purifying water chemical treatments such as iodine or tablets.  The advantage of these two methods is size.  If you have the ability to boil the water – sometimes that is the best course of action.  The problem with boiling the water is the time that it takes and finding a container and flame.  Also – some people do not want to drink hot water on a hot day.  We believe that camping water filters are really the best and safest way to go.
